Serving as the Food Safety and Quality Manger since 2007, Randy Brooks brings more than 10 years of experience to his position with the American Council for Food Safety and Quality. Randy has earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology- Medical Technology and Minor in Chemistry in 1995. He continued his education in Business Administration and earned an Executive Certificate in International Management in 2006.
His career in food began at General Mills in 1996 as a Laboratory Technician and later with Nestle as a Bacteriologist. In 1999, Randy joined Diamond Foods, Inc. in Stockton, California, where he was responsible for the food safety systems. Being responsible for the number of international, domestic, second and third party quality audits and plant sanitation inspections, has provided valuable experience. Randy and the ACFSQ food safety team consults in areas of Food Safety and HACCP to member and non-member clients. Randy currently serves as primary contact for ACFSQ / US FDA Partnership Agreement communications. Randy and the food safety team provide members with three unannounced GMP/Food safety Audits per year. Randy credentials include BRC Certified Auditor, GMA-SAFE Certified Auditor and Certified HACCP Manager. The “Carrier of the Year” award is based on the total number of containers shipped by the carrier in the calendar year. AgTC: “Clean Truck” Program The Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) recently wrote to the Port of Seattle Commission summarizing its support for the Port’s approach to effort to reduce emissions and improve air quality. DFA Terms and Conditions Clarification In mid February, members received a letter regarding the misuse of the phrase “DFA Terms and Conditions.” We would like to remind you that in actuality, the terms and conditions referenced are actually a contract developed by the California Dried Fruit Export Association (CDFEA), which is now referred to as the Specialty Crop Trade Council (SCTC.)
